The budgets for the Alfred Box of Books Library and the Almond 20th Century Club Library will be presented at a public hearing to be held on Tuesday, May 26th at 5:00 pm at the Almond 20th Century Club Library. Residents are encouraged to attend to hear the budget proposals and ask questions.

Paper copies of the proposed budgets will be available at the Circulation Desk shortly. Please let a staff member know if you would like a copy.

Early Mail and Absentee Voting

The library will maintain a list of early mail and absentee voters moving forward. Ballots will be sent to the address on file each year. Even if you are registered for early mail or absentee with the Allegany County Board of Elections, you still need to complete an application for the library budget vote.

Residents of the Alfred Almond School District who wish to apply for early mail or absentee voting, should use the forms below OR paper copies are available at the Circulation Desk at the Almond 20th Century Club Library.

Deadlines

  1. Applications for absentee or early mail voiting are available at the Alfred Box of Books Library beginning Wednesday, June 3. If you applied for early mail in or absentee ballots last year, we will mail these to you beginning June 3.
  2. If voter requests that a ballot be mailed to them, applications must be received no later than Tuesday, June 9 to ensure it arrives on time.
  3. If the voter’s application is delivered to the library in person, it must be received no later than 6:00pm on Monday, June 15.
  4. All absentee and early mail ballots must be received no later than 5PM on June 16 or postmarked no later than June 16 AND received no later than June 23.
